And the “community” overcame “The Accuser” by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;
-My version of Revelations 12:11
I must confess that sometimes I miss Testimony Service in the Black Church. Remember those? Folks standing up with a uncontainable story about how God stepped in and changed their circumstances, saved their lives, or protected their children. That was good stuff. Now of course, some folks saw Testimony Service as their time to preach their sermon for the morning and others loved them because they could get all the dirt on some unsuspecting testifier, but one must admit that beyond that – there was nothing like a genuine testimony.
So, I’ve decided that it’s time to share some testimonies here on Faith in Action. The people that visit this site are wonderfully diverse and come from all sorts of places in the world (you read that right). And for those who are active participants in their community, sometimes it’s necessary to hear that other folks are out there trying to make a difference too. You are not alone in the struggle!
Use the comment section below to share your story. Share as much or as little as you’d like. Who are you? Where are you? How are you active in your community? How can people support what you are trying to do? Is there a resource that you’ve come across that might help others? Is there a website or a book that gave you invaluable direction?
So come on folks – let’s share! You never know who will be inspired and instructed by your story.

Greetings,
Now that God has healed my body after 7 years of fighting Crohn’s Disease, I am on a mission to empower my people.
While I was sick God gave me the concept of Kinetics. When I first worked on Kinetics it was a Black Christian PAC, Black Christian Lobby, and a research institute. God told me to just make it an information ministry and the other organizations will come. Kinetics was birth out of my frustration with church; out of my frustration with the same routine. As we go about church as usual our community is dying. The Bible says my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. So I developed Kinetics to try to fill the gap.
Kinetics is an information ministry designed to disseminate information on spiritual, political, economic, and social issues.
Kinetics mission is to provide the faith community with the tools to advocate and mobilize on local, national, and international issues, to build capacity to solve our own problems, and to use dialogue as a catalyst for social change.
Kinetics goals are:
to inform the body of Christ on religious, cultural, social, and political affairs through workshops, seminars, lectures, and the arts;
to build relationships with community, educational, and policy and research institutions;
to build capacity to solve our own problem, and to use dialogue as a catalyst for social change;
to promote and support both study of and participation in arts, culture, religion, and history.
Kinetics reaches across denominational lines and challenges people of faith to come together, pool our resources, and restore our community.
My first event was cancel due to inclement weather. We are currently planning the next event scheduled for May 6-Economic Empowerment and the Role of the Black Church: Developing Strategies for Collective Wealth.
God has been saying to me that this is the year of the SHIFT. That in this year prominent preachers will be removed as God raises up new leadership that has not been compromised or who are not afraid to speak truth to power. After living in New York for a few years I am happy to be back home in Baltimore. I believe this city if filled with some spiritual giants who have given up on the traditional church. I am excited about what God is getting ready to do.
