My path to “legitimacy” continues with my pen…
Earlier this month, I was confirmed as the Baltimore Times’ newest freelance writer. I thank God for yet another platform to share, inspire, inform, and mobilize. It doesn’t hurt that I’m being compensated to “write what I like” either. (Five bucks to the first person who can tell me where I pulled that phrase from)
While I’ve been published in The Times before, my first “official” piece for the paper is in this week’s edition.
“Red legislation, Brown Immigrants, and Black America”
(P.S. - I posted an early draft of the article here on the blog last week. The published version is a bit more….shall we say…refined. lol.)

Heber, I’m proud of you! I still don’t completely agree with you. But nevertheless, I’m proud. LOL
I put money on it that this is only the beginning for you.
Hopefully, the Lord will open doors for me to write for pay as well. I’m trying to make some contacts now.

Congratulations to you!
That phrase brings to mind Steve Biko’s book, I write what I like. There is a lot of truth in his writings. I also agree that we cannot be liberated until we unite to break the chains of servitude.
