Next Steps for Darfur
Activists marching for the people of Darfur

This was the scene on June 1, 2005 when Young Clergy for Social Change joined an Africa Action rally to press the American government to speak up and stand up for the people of Darfur.
I just received notification that a UN Draft Resolution has been introduced that would authorize more than 17,000 peacekeepers to the Darfur region to protect the people and help stabilize the nation. The Resolution hasn’t been adopted yet - there are some obstacles present that threaten to block it, however, I believe obstacles are made to be overcome.
Join me on Saturday, September 9, 2006 as I participate in an Africa Action rally to mark the 2 year anniversary of Bush’s declaration that genocide is taking place in Darfur. Hundreds of activists will be present to urge the U.S. to do all it can to support the passage of the UN Resolution. Click here for more information about the rally and visit Africa Action to learn more about genocide in Darfur. (They’ll even help you send an email to President Bush)

Good Luck on this Heb! I really hope that your government finally listens to you all and helps stop this genocide.
