I’ve been tagged!: Eight Random Facts About Me

July 11, 2007
By

Angie tagged me and my initial reaction to being tagged was to ignore it and keep on doing my thing.  However, I remembered how Angie went all “Big Mama” on another blogger and decided that I didn’t want to catch a bloggable beat down for iggin’ my sister.  I complete this survey ONLY because she asked me.

We have to post these rules before we give you the facts:

  1. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves

  2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.

  3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

  4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

 SO HERE GOES:

1. Though I’m outgoing and a people person in public; I am an extremely private person.  (Which is why completing this survey is so hard for me – are we on #8 yet?)

2. I can count all of my friends on one hand. (And I don’t need all of the fingers on that hand!)

3. I don’t like talking on the phone after 7pm and I’m in bed by 8:30pm on most nights.  (I’m sure that this will change once Football season begins)

4. I really don’t like traditional church these days which is interesting being that I’m a PK (preacher’s kid) and a preacher myself.  To be honest, I “feel/sense” God more when I’m out serving the community or raising my voice for justice.

5. Within the next couple of years, I want to return to and live in Ghana for about 6-9 months.  I believe that American culture is toxic to African people and has a detrimental impact on our minds, bodies, and souls.  I also wish to move to the continent during the senior years of my life and be buried there so that at the same time that my spirit returns to God, my physical body will return to its origin.

6. I like watching my wife sleep and then playing with her feet to make her move.

7. I talk to my bills when they come in the mail saying stuff like: “Yea, yea, yea, I know – you’ll get it when I get it” and “I’m not scared of bright pink paper!  I don’t care if it’s PURPLE – I AIN’T PAYING RIGHT NOW!”

8. I like when Jehovah Witnesses come to my door on Saturday morning (after breakfast) or catch me at the gas station.  I always accept their literature (though I rarely read it) and sometimes we even engage in meaningful discussion about God and religion.  This one time at band camp…..sorry……I meant to say: One time this Witness seemed to be agreeing with me more than what she was taught.  She wanted to leave the Temple and come to church with me.  That was something.

I really don’t want to tag anyone else – most of the people that I would’ve wanted to tag have already been tagged so I hope I can be excused from this part.

Heber, I’m so shame! I can’t believe you saw my post over at the other brotha’s site. OMG! And I also can’t believe you provided a link to it. *raised eyebrows*

Please forgive your sister. You should have seen the blog fight that I broke up over at the Afrospear. Free Slave and African American Political Pundant were going at it. Well, I had to throw in some sugar and spice to make the boys be nice. (smile)

Well, Heber, I appreciate you for participating in my little tag. You’re off the hook. You don’t have to tag anyone else.

You can even take this public post down if you would like. I’m cool with that, especially since you linked my little rebuke over at FS’s blog.

    Heber,
Thanks for checking out my 8 things and hitting me up. Its funny that you said you enjoyed some of the books I listed as my favorites, as I come over here and check your blog I see we also have some other interest in common. Jehovah’s Witnesses; when I was younger living at home and the Witnesses would knock on the door my mother would run back to my room to get me to talk to them, and we would often engage in conversation. Most often they would leave shaking their heads after I would rangle them in and retain them past the amount of time they truely wanted to spend at the door…LOL Also, about being buried in Africa was a feeling I had in my heart for a very long time and you wrote exactly the reasons why I wanted to buried there.
To Angie, I truely enjoy reading you blog every chance I get. Keep the words flowing….
