Quite similar to how divestment was a valuable tactic utilized against South African apartheid, this same tactic is being used all over the world by concerned citizens and institutions wishing to end the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. Sudan’s government has delayed progressive action long enough. It’s time for the global community to act! Please give Council Bill 07-0591 a favorable vote in your committee on Thursday, November 15, 2007 and continue to urge its passage before the full council.
