Dear Friends of Dr. Cain Hope Felder,
You are cordially invited to a formal gala to honor our beloved Dr. Cain Hope Felder. The benefit is to recognize, honor and celebrate his 35 years as a world-renown and brilliant Biblical scholar, masterful teacher, anointed preacher, prolific writer, and one who has sown into the lives of countless individuals. The black tie salute will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 5:30 to 9:00 pm in the Blackburn Center on the main campus of Howard University in Washington, DC.
This over-due tribute on behalf of this prophetic man of God is designed to be a benefit to support the Biblical Institute for Social Change and to help off-set medical costs and other expenses incurred over the past year due to his battle with cancer. In his fight to restore his health and emerge from the mountain of debt beyond co-pay, medications, medical tests and other fees, Dr. Felder has taken intensive time and borne extensive costs associated with writing and publishing documents, while suffering loss in revenue by pricing books below market worth in order that the masses would be able to afford these essential resources. Through these works and BISC sponsored programs, Dr. Felder demonstrates the critical role that persons of African descent have played in Biblical history and the church. His in-exhaustive efforts, at personal expense for the past 16 years, have greatly mobilized churches and other religious organizations across the United States and throughout the world, equipping them to be vehicles to bring forth social change. He has served as a towering pillar and as an advocate for the African American community and people of color at-large.
If you are unable to attend the gala, a monetary contribution would be greatly appreciated. You are encouraged to purchase an ad for the souvenir journal, purchase a table or individual tickets. Recognizing that these costs may not be covered in your contingency fund or budget, it has been suggested by some Pastors that they are willing to specifically collect a love offering to support Dr. Felder during this critical time in his life.
