The community is fearful of the owner, a African-American man, and did not sign the petition, but she was able to get the Board to initiate a hearing. She is unrelentless in her desire to close this business down. Hopefully, there will be no side deals. You are doing such good work. I am also involved with BUILD and believe that would be a great connection to make to get support for your good work. Your determination will prevail but the setbacks are hard. The encouraging thing for me is that there are people in this city who are willing to fight for the betterment of their communities, and the empowerment process for us who want to be involved is part of the success too.
