Juanita Bynum on Divorce Court
That’s right ladies and gentlemen. Despite the tumult that she has recently experienced in her own past marriage(s); “Dr.” Juanita Bynum will now be giving counsel to those couples who are planning to move forward with divorce proceedings on the Divorce Court television show. (Only in America can you have television shows centered around failed marriages. How does our society create a market for this mess!?)
I’m not one who totally discredits the marital counsel of those who have been divorced. Certainly, some of those individuals have learned much about marriage and themselves making them perfect candidates to point out potential potholes for others. However, I remain concerned that the wounds in “Dr.” Bynum’s relationship are still too fresh…too new to be able to counsel in a balanced and thorough way. (Even Star Jones - after her Bynum-esque wedding of the century went the rational route and is now engaging in a quiet divorce and is asking for “privacy with her thoughts“. That’s what newly divorced people do! They go sit down somewhere and get themselves together. They don’t call a press conference the day after the marital explosion claiming to be a spokeswoman for battered women across America!)
Wait. There’s more. According to this report, Bynum will also be talking about her divorce on the show. Talking about how she loves herself more now (nooooo really?), how she’s “done”, and how the rumors about reconciliation are false. Though her appearance on the television show could affect the mediation that she and her estranged husband are presently engaging in; Bynum will be on the set and in front of the cameras anyway.
Her marketing machine continues to roll full speed ahead. Bynum is certainly an ambitious sista who is striking while the iron of her own celebrity is hot. She seems to be jumping on every opportunity to get in front of a camera, call a conference, or sell a product.
I don’t know folks. I know I’m biased against Bynum for a number of reasons so perhaps I’m being too harsh and a bit unfair. I know I’m not one that’s interested in building a marketing empire that’s centered on me, but is there anything wrong with her doing it? Maybe I need to cut the sista some slack.

sistah gurl is straight ego-tripin… at first i kinda felt a lil sympathetic about everything that was going on but NOW i dont even know. Keep pulling her card cause she is truly somewhere in lala land [[or should i say TV land]] (smile)

You might be right about ego et al, however, I suspect that the Universe is correcting itself from thousands of years of male domination and suppression of ; and deservedly so. The majority of the fellas’ including me have been too hard on our female counterparts. The struggle of females is a lot alike the American Civil Rights Struggle!
Most of my minister friends hate to hear me say this given that they believe that it is the job of the male to ‘rule’ over the woman; I always remind them of an even ‘greater rule’, that is to do unto others as you would have them to do unto you! We haven’t always done that. This story kind of reminds me of John chapter 8 when the Pharisees brought the woman to be judged and not the man.
We have a female Speaker of the House in Congress and Secretary of State, we are apparently on the way to having our first female President, - and 53% of American citizens are female! Lets get ready to ride the roller coast - things are about to undergo an enormous course correction, for there is a wholly new group of empower citizens in America!
It will be interesting to hear what Ms. Bynum has to say! Judge Hatchett appeared at the Black Family Reunion in Washington DC a few years ago - she is nononsense! I am sure that she felt that Ms. Bynum could add something…, for her listeners and to the narrative!

I really want to write an extensive dialogue about this, but I don’t have the strength…
“What is she thinking” is really about all I can say. This is a time where she needs to focus on restoring herself. My hope is that she won’t use this as a time to bash her husband. That would not be a good example for her followers.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
I guess I will stay with the old rule; if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything……or how ’bout just Wowzer!!!
April 25th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Ms. Bynum is just staying in the word. From the Book Of Flavor Flav, Chapter Seven, Verse 4: ” Go forth without shame or dignity, without judgement or honor…for the almighty(Dollar) will cure all your ills. So let it be written…so let it be done”
April 30th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
It appears Ms. Bynums’ need for the dollar is greater than her ability to use common sense and to be still for the good of the church. She is geared at fulfilling her own needs(for money and maximizing her visability) and not the needs of how the church is viewed behind this mess. She chooses to live her life publicly as a child of God, yet is not coming across as genuine. She has failed to recognize that she needs to let the waves of embarassment settle. She exhibits the nature of pure greed and doesn’t seem to respond to anything but that. She is definitely a very ambitous woman and perhaps there is more to this story than we know, however just watching her do her thing kind of makes me wonder about her inner nature. Is it of the world or is it of the nature of Christ? She doesn’t do a very good job of masking the overly greedy and ambitious nature and where does that point to?

Leave her alone!! Everybody and I mean everybody has a path to walk. We can’t continue to put ministers above making mistakes, just because they’re ministers. “There is none perfect, but the Father.” If “church folk” and other people who don’t have a heaven or hell, would make “examining themselves” and their homes a priority, then there wouldn’t be anytime for other people’s business. Now, I’m not saying spousal abuse,or any other crime for that matter is to be taken lightly, but I am saying: let us stop sitting in the judgement seat. The walk of a born again Christian isn’t easy, it’s a daily decision, and the true men and women of God, as well as innocents who don’t ask to be violated, are suffering the most. The main thing is to get a relationship with God, and know who “we” are in Christ Jesus. That way, the closer “we” get to God, the less we will be apt to judge. Pray instead of point

What ever happened to “Loving thy neighbor”? What happened to compassion? Jesus died to save us all….and the love he expressed even to the woman at the well, the lady who was a whore-monger and everyone wanted to slay her….”He who is without sin, cast the first stone”. Seriously, I don’t really understand how people have time to think and analyze so closely the life of a woman that they only know from the entertainment industry through publications, tv media, internet slander…etc. I just stumbled upon this page….I was actually looking for her new website. But truly….If people, especially “believers” would spend more time analyzing their own personal situations, doctoring their own hurts, bumps and bruises….we would not have enough time to sit in judgement. Remember…no matter what your personal opionion of her is, the truth is she is an awesome, powerful, anointed woman of God….and the word of God says “Touch not my anointed…and do my prophets no harm”. If we would all truly realize that no matter the background, color, size, creed….we are all striving, and have one goal in mind…and that is to make heaven our home! Let’s pray for one another….love one another! –ed

Early in my walk I was really into her ministry and respected what she did. I was very disturbed to hear about the breakup of Juanita’s marriage because I remembered how she was holding out and waiting for that brother to come along. Now that it’s over, it appears that rather than taking the time to heal she is all over the place. Whatever happened to discretion and dignity? I have read other folks comments about people not being perfect and how we are all striving for to be like Christ. That may very well be true but the standards for a teacher, pastor, bishop and those who lead the flock are at a higher level because of the example they set. They also come under a stricter judgement. We are not exempt but I think she needs to examine her motives and see if this is the direction the Lord wants her to go in before she does a show or interview.
Peace

At the end of the day it is none of our business. She has to answer to a higher authority. I am sure we all do things and ithen in hindsight think we should have done it differently. Leave the woman alone and let her be accountable to those in authority over her and to God himself!

TO: SISTA KEEPING IT REAL
Isn’t it unrealistic to expect believers to follow her teaching and example when all is going well and not seek to understand her actions when she is being challenged. After all the true test of a leader’s character is not what is done when everything is going smoothly but how do they model the Word and its principles under pressure.
Yes, we have all failed and Yes we all have made decisions that we would handle differently today. Let’s unite and pray for Prophetess Bynum that she judges her motives and actions in light of the Word BEFORE God does.
In the meantime, I pray that they would begin to use wisdom in how they publicly handle their affairs. This has turned into one hot mess and God’s people are better than that.

Mr. Brown, great site and post. Here’s some food for thought regarding your questionable concerns about Juanita Bynum on Divorce Court, and her media participation in general. The comparison of Star JOnes and her private course of action is hideously incomparable. Star Jones was not a victim of a crime w/a spiritual following of millions of people all over the world who would want to know if one of their spiritual leaders were hurt, be it by their own husband or a masked gunman. Church folks shut-in when our bishops have heart attacks. This was not mere divorce drama again in a high profile marriage. Second, since this divorce drama was amongst clergypersons, it became a whole different situation. Black church folks protect their bishops and leaders to the grave. The same people that put a cursing Marion Barry back in office, will support a wife-beating Bishop. Third, divorce court is a show in America and reflects the REALITY of life in America. More marriages end up in divorce than end in non-violent deaths of spouses. This is a crisis in America, which no one is exempt from, and divorce is like suffering the loss of a loved one. Divorce is a open field for hurting people. It is a place for ministry. Yes, no one should be developing a marketing empire based on them in the name of Jesus. But, it does not take a completely whole woman to tell another one to get out and stand up for oneself before it is too late. A two year old can say the same thing, and it will still be a good true principle. Finally, it is sad that you discredit the divorced from providing good marital counsel. They are the ones who have failed at it, and suffer the repercussions from such failure. They can tell you where not to go and what not to do. My father and his present wife counsel thousands of couples. Guess what? This is his third marriage (and is happy after 18 years). He learned what true compatibility was after two failed attempts. You live a long enough, you’ll get greater wisdom, brother. Your life’s answers are spoken every day all around you and it just may come from a dirty bird, or a source that does not appear to be qualified to you. Take the substance for what it is and move on.

To a Sister in Christ
Please do not misunderstand what I am saying. Accusing a woman of chasing the almighty dollar while going through a very high profile divorce is not a call anyone should make without proof or knowledge to that effect. Trying to understand what is going on so we can learn from someone’s life is a wise thing to do. I do agree though that above all else we should PRAY for BOTH parties involved and their families that they come through this sad situation and in doing so remember “but for the grace of God ….”

She is simply human, made from the same dust as you and I. We all are nothing but filthy rags, and we were all born into sin. We are all given the same gift, and that is Jesus Christ who was crucified for OUR salvation if we accept Him. He is our provider, comforter, and our deliverer. Are we suppose to hide in the house, and be depressed as children of God? Where would our faith be? In the word it says “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” She has wept, and if humbling herself and going into to the public eye is how God is choosing to “heal her broken heart”, then so be it. If God wants her to prosper during her afflictions then, so be it. Children of God can be free in whatever they are going through, because God says,”where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.”

There is a very common scripture about a woman caught in the act of adultery who was brought before Jesus. We all know Jesus’ response. But isn’t it amazing how some of us are so eager to throw stones? Not to mention that we are overlooking the main reason for this whole drama, which is the abuse of women, which most of us seem to be condoning as not much is being said about it. Are we saying that women should stay in abusive relationships and pray that one day, it will not end in their death? It is unfortunate that it had to happen to someone in the public eye but the truth of the matter is, that someone is a person as well, who has feelings just like anyone else. What would any one of us do in this situation? But as children of God, we have not been given the mandate to judge each other, that role still belongs to God. Our role is to pray for those in leadership, including the Lord’s anointed that lead His flock, and that is the best we can do. And we need to remember David’s attitude when he had the opportunity to kill Saul. As much as Saul was wrong, he was still the Lord’s anointed and David did not want to be tainted by harming him. So we need to be careful what we say (or write) against the Lord’s anointed, as much as they may be wrong. The only accuser of the brethren is the devil, so when we do the accusing, we know whose court we are in. As children of God, we have been mandated to love each other and edify each other, NOT destroy each other, even by text. Non-believers also visit these websites and the devil is going to have a field day if we continue destroying each other. Let us shame the devil and stand together as children of God while continuing to pray for this couple.
May the peace of God rest upon all of us.

@ Mulloverthis,
I don’t think you know what you are talking about as regards to comparing the people of D.C. putting Marion Barry back in office to a wife beating bishop. Let me enlighten you.
Marion Barry was one of the greatest mayors in a majority black city that this country has ever known. He was one of the young soldiers in the civil rights movement, participating in sit-ins, getting the dogs sicked on him, getting locked up and the like. He also participated in the Poor People’s Campaign in Washington which was designed to bring attention to the world of the poverty issue in America. The idea was Dr. King’s but he was killed before it got under way. The idea was to converge on Washington and protest by living in shantytown-like conditions called “Resurrection City”.
Mr. Barry also created a lot of wealth, a lot of black millionaires in D.C. I don’t know where you live but a D.C. city worker makes way more 15 years ago than a Baltimore city worker makes today. Marion Barry has done a lot of good for the citizens of D.C.
Mr. Barry has had his share of personal demons that he has dealt with no doubt, but he did his job. The goverment tried to get him several times on graft and corruption, but to no avail. They went all out to get him after it was known that he had a drug problem. The federal goverment spent over a million dollars on thier sting operation to bring Marion Barry down. He had a problem sure, but did that outweigh all the good that he had done in his life and for the people of D.C.? The clear minded citizens of Washington said no, we will put this man back in office, our brother who has done right by us, and we don’t like the way you went after him. After he was re-elected, a Control Board was installed that basically had to approve every decision he made in office.
I say all of that to say that I would be remiss if I did not explain to you what the people of Washington did in re-electing Marion Barry. In no way is their forgiveness in anyway tantamount to a wife-beating bishop. Maybe some who profess to be Christians can learn from that lesson.
May 9th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
@ Mulloverthis,
I meant to say enlighten you on comparing the people who put Marion Barry back in office to the people who would support a wife-beating bishop. But it is clear on what I’m saying.

I was just listening to Juanita’s message on “teach me how to love you today” i honestly felt so bad and i wept regarding all that has happened. It is my prayer that the almighty God restores their union. My hope that these two people of God will go back and face the realities of what they preached. We should not only be preachers of the word but doers also.i challenge every believer to go on their knees and pray for prophetess juanita and pastor weeks.I understand that juanita might have publicly allerged her desire for a divorce and she might be wondering what people will say if she doesn’t pursue the divorce. All i can say is that she is a woman of God and i urge her to seek God and do the right thing. If God could forgive our filthiness what more of you. Please
juanita forgive your husband and may you be that wonderful couple again. This is the testimony when we pass through the fire ad still come out.the name of the Lord is glorified.Let us all pray and declare fastings for them. For i know God will hear us.If God could restore the marriage of Duncan Williams and the wife,God will restore Juanita and Weeks. It is the trick of the enermy to discredit believers but the bible says we are more than conquerors.I trust God He will answer me.Amen

I take the position that all of you are pointing into the right direction. I think one of the troubling things is we understand that God is not a respecter of person. To this end, yes we all fall short but we are all held accountable. I too, question her sincerity in light of this decision. If she was healed then her dialogue would change, she would not be trying to speak for all the domesticly abused women of the world, who only know became of a concern, but she would be seeking to hear God’s voice. Even Jesus took time to leave among his disciplines to seek his Father’s voice. In this instance, my question to God would be “why did you allow me to be expose this way” and thus “what are you saying to me?” I firmly believe that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord, with that stated, she needs to find out what good and I am not talking about monetary or any temporal, finite thing, but I am talking about eternally, is God going to create out of this.
May 28th, 2008 at 8:09 am
Please beloved christians why do we want attack Juanita in that way. Do you really know that what you say against her can be held against you by the Almighty. The bible says that,” who so ever touches you touches the apple of my eye”. She might have done it all wrong according to you, but when did God give you the power to judge His own servants? We are in a race, so if some falls do not sit down and laugh at them because you also have to run properly in that race too. JAMES 4:11-12.
Stay blessed and respect those whom God has called.

Now I undestand why some people don’t attend church
people today need to get real , especially church folks
stop trying to preach to everyone when most of you know these people
like Bynum and Weeks live a hell, it’s obvious, and what about Weeks message on cussin in the bedroom???? lol..what a stupid bastard, He shouldn’t even be in the pulpit(go to you tube if some of you self rightous believers don’t believe it.
June 3rd, 2008 at 11:30 am
The church we have today is not the REAL church God called us to be, She is one of the few people God has called and has stepped into her ministry, the truth is that the devil wants people bound and the only way he can do that is to paint a bad picture of an annointed woman of God who is doing what her father in heaven has commanded, to make people not see, hear or listen to what God is saying to the church of today, what the church and the peple of today should be concerned about is attaining that perfection posture Jesus desires to present to God the Father and not calling her names, abusing her ministry of saying she is not a submissive wife, i personally am praying for her and that we all open our eyes to see whats really happeneing today with the church and the annointed ministers of God how that we need to go back to our place of prayer cos thats the only thing the church needs today, i respect her and what she carries and i know that God who keeps to his irrefutable, irresistible words will see her through all in all, cos the bible says that it is him who works in us both to will and do of his good pleasure.

I’m sorry, did I miss something? “Dr.” Bynum? Doctor of what? Anybody can call themselves “Doctor” or “Pastor” or “Bishop” or “Apostle” whatever they want. Really, people.
And did you go to the juanitabynum.com? It’s crap, a placeholder for her domain name. “Prophetess” Juanita Bynum is certainly no prophet. Heck she’s barely even preacher.
June 4th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
You’re right! Just her picture on the web, nothing to do there. She has been getting bad publicity from a lot so I will let that suffice.
June 5th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Amen, BUNMI. You could not have said it better. The Church of today God is NOT pleased with. We have become too much like the world. Yes, we as Christians DO still make mistakes, but we are suppose to arise from the mistake and move on to do BETTER. Not continue to wallow in our mess AND be comfortable with it. Repentance means that you are sorry for what you did and you try your best NOT to do it again. When a person continues over and over again to make the same thing, they WILL eventually get confortable in their mess. Now we should not be bashing Sis. Bynum, but praying for her IF we are truley men and women of God.
As far as all these degrees some of these ministers have…some of them are Honorary, because their is another minister I know of that is about to get one and her name will be DR. XXXXXXX. I have one question. WHERE? WHERE? OH WHERE? in the bible does it state that you have to have a college degree to be a minister???? Since when is this even biblical. Again, its the way of the world. The mentality of you dont qualify unless you have a degree? Being a minister is a CALLING not a JOB. If someone is called, they are called…that’s it. Jesus did not go to college, Paul did not go to college. Peter did not go to college. Give me a break. If you are called to Preach, you must sit under someone who will teach and trained you, but to me preaching the word is not something that you can even learn in a classroom..it is a gifting/calling from God. Nowadays, anyone who went to school to be a minister…called or not are preaching. This give so much room for false prophets to get away with trying to be something that they are not. Got a degree..oh ok…come preach…do we even care if they are called? Not anymore we dont.
Lets all pray for the body of Christ as a whole. God Bless

Prophetess Bynum simply seems to be doing what many of us do during times of extreme adversity, keep busy. Her rapid pace may be a type of coping mechanism. It is possible that she will slow down when she can do so without feeling so much pain. Prophetess Bynum has never hidden her depth of emotion from the public. Her ministry has always been expressive, and has taught others to be expressive. However, the intimacy of a marriage is special, and she deserves to grieve in private. Those who love God must love her, and should therefore, not require her to prove her pain to the entire world. Her claim to represent battered women around the world sounds like a suggestion that may have been pitched to her by someone else. Still, the issue of domestic violence will progress in advocacy because of her engagement of the issue. That is positive and not negative.
June 8th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
I am amazed at some of the comments in this forum defending Juanita Bynum. Let’s not forget, first of all, that she is a self-proclaimed prophetess manipulating and exploiting the weak, hurting, hopeless, and vulnerable women of our society. It is these women (and men) that buy her books, go to her conferences and put their last few dollars in the offering plate. All for what? For public exhibitions, such as her wedding, which are meant to increase her celebrity and, therefore, her potential revenues. She, like most of these Prosperity teachers are teaching you gullible people are “False Gospel”. When we’ll you folk wake up and start seeing the truth for what it really is, instead of defending fake shysters and charlatans like Bynum? The Gospel is based on Love and Forgiveness, no doubt, but integrity and justice are equally important in God’s Kingdom.
June 8th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Honey, where have you been. How are you amazed at the comments being wrote defending Bynum. When you speak on someone being exploited, you are talking about yourself. Juanita Bynum is a true woman of God. She is the only one from that marriage who have forgave. Juanita forgave her husband the first day she came out to let her followers no that she was ok. Juanita is the one who wanted the relationship to continue. She is the one responsible for Weeks not going to jail. This man admitted in court how he abused this woman. Juanita can not make people draw to her are her message. Reguardless to what you say. Juanita Bynum is incredible in Christ, and she is very serious about her work. People act as if she should just lay down and die all because a marriage did not work. Juanita Bynum has been preaching for twenty five years. She is not confind to a church. She goes all over the world with her own ministry. If you are not a follower than why are you on her site. God is in control and the head of her life. So what you may say are thank does not have any barring on her ministry sre her life. Stop hating on this woman. This is her life and she live it as she see fit. Besize your life is problemly in worst shape. juanita has forgave her ungreatful husband. Weeks is the one who is not God fearing.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:52 am
I Thank God for this woman of God, that I have personally followed for many years, a woman of God that I KNOW is truely ordained by God. Her life to this day has caused many changes in my life, and this last trial that I have witness, by way of media has affected my life tremendously. I search everyday for a message from her on her web page, I truely miss her. But by my faith I Know That God will soon send her back. Prophetess Bynum I truely miss you to tears, and I LOVE YOU. Continue to be strong and stay focused because I am the same age as you are but you are my spiritual maother because God told me so, and know you are before him and hearing his voice louder than any other voice. I thank you that I am not a cat, but a bulldog in the spirit. I LOVE YOU.
June 20th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
I thank God for not falling for the okey-doke, the flim-flam, the under the table, the prosperity pilferation, the W.C. Fields(sucker born every minute) and so on and so on. Prophetess Bynum was recently on the Home Shopping Network hawking some Emergency Prayer Kits when the set caught fire. Don’t take my word for it, look it up on Google and You Tube. During her spiel the set caught fire and no one (fire investigators) could not find the cause. Did I also mention she was selling some blessed ink pens for 5 large. 5 stacks. Or in prosperity terms for the poor souls who are or are being fleeced, 5,000 dollars. For an ink pen!!! What ever happened to BIC!!! What ever happened to Papermate!!! Thanks, but no thanks…..I’ll stay in the world. God will not blame me. No one who has a sane once of sense can justify this. Also the cause of the fire seems to be divine since they can’t find the cause. Imagine that, an angry God sending a message.
June 25th, 2008 at 9:50 am
Although we will not judge these people who are discrediting the Name of Jesus, we don’t have to support them by buying their products and so on. To do so will encourage them to continue in their errant ways. What I find troubling is that Juanita Bynum said she became so depressed, she wanted to commit suicide. Imagine those of us out here with desvastating things happening to us and the leaders are not what they seem to be and talk about taking their lives or are not examples as those called to the ministry. The church let divorce be readily acceptable and they are allowed to keep ministering to Believers no matter what the circumstances of their divorce may be (adultery, incompatibility, etc.). All of this activity is in complete opposition to the Word of God that specifies what is required of a man of God. I now “test” the spirits more because of what has happened within the Pentecostal/Evangelical world, and no longer run to conferences being held. We are in deceiving times and we must let the Spirit of the Lord guide us. Not everyone who claims they are anointed are anointed. We must follow Jesus and not some charismatic personality whose fruit is not condusive to the Body of Christ. Let us get out of ignorance and get back to serving Jesus, being led by leaders who are truly Born Again!
June 26th, 2008 at 10:32 am
I really don’t agree with a women of God who just went through a divorce. Encouraging others in whay God hates. We know that God is forgiving and merciful, and divorce is not an unpardonable sin. However, God teaches us to love what he loves and to hate what he hates. Yes divorce is a reality of the world we live. We are in this world but not of it. You can not control another persons heart and make them commit to you if they don’t want too.
June 26th, 2008 at 10:53 am
We need to pray for Juanita that she does not let the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word. It is easy to sit in judgement and say what is right and wrong and our own lives are not completely lined up with his word. However, we should encourage each other and keep each other lifted up to God in prayer. This is her hour of temptation and non of us are exempt from it. When much is given, much is required. You think the enemy is not going to come after her. Yes, He comes after all of us some in a more subtle way than others. I just pray that juanita will remember all the things that God has spoken to her life and over her life. I pray that she would remember to walk worthy of the calling in which she is called. I pray she will remember to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of her mind, so that she may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. I know that she has been through a lot and is still going through. Let us pray that her faith fails not, and when she is converted again( remember no more sheets) she will strengten the bretheren. As for the rest of her endeavors, lets just believe God that it is all part of the master plan, and her steps are being ordered by the lord. Remember she is still Gods anointed! We get mad when the people of God prosper. At first we say it is Gods will until they start making too much money. Our Father in heaven is rich, and gives us all things richly to enjoy. No one said joseph was out of Gods will when he was second in command in Egypt. So we cant assume she is either. We can only pray and hope that what ever is going on with her, will not cause her to lose focus on what God has chosen her to do.

God has blessed all of us with a free will. Do whatever you want to do. He also blessed us with the ability to think clearly. If you purchase a 5,000 dollar ink pen, more power to you. Just as the prosperity pimps…er, a people, hawk their wares, don’t try to jusitfy your choice to defend their deeds by trying to invoke God in their chicanery. What a great country we live in. You have the choice of reality or pie in the sky mumbo-jumbo where some people take advantage of the very people who need hope the most.

I am not surprise at the ugly untruth written about juanita bynum. Black woman are famous for protecting OUR worthless men. A Black man can spit, clap, stomp, cuss and cheat on their woman and still some how remain spotless. This is one of the reason the jail, prisons, drugs and unemployment has become the plight for Black men. The pulpit has become a way of power for men like thomas week, and when they can’t have their way in that arena, they revert to the same sort of violence and abuse that is acted out at home. Wake up Black woman. Stop making IDOLS out of Black men and you will see God lift this CURSE off of our men lives. The Black man has been reduced to crumbs of bread and the only power he possess to woman of all RACES is the power of his Penis. This is the true that need to be address. Wake up Black men.

Wow, Patricia. Sounds like you’ve had a REALLY bad experience. I pray that quality brothers come into your sphere to help you balance your perspective.
June 30th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
If a man did to you everything that you said 50 times, that still DOES NOT jusitfy a person who claims to be of God, milking the flock. Keep on hating black men. From the tone of your post it will not be a loss. Keep following your woman Prophetess or whatever. There is no difference in her or Don King. No, no I take that back. Everybody knows Don King is strictly about the loot. Send every dime you have to Bynum. Do what your mind tells you to do!! LOL!!!!LOL!!!!

WOW! How fast “news” good or bad spread. I just looked at this site which seems to be the “satire” that started it all. No truth to the story but everyone has their opionion. Let’s all check the beam in our eye before worrying about the speck in other. Christ-ones - let’s prayer for the church, the leaders, ourselves. Check it out. http://hermansmith.wordpress.com/2008/04/08/juanita-bynums-emergency-prayer-kits-cause-strange-fire-on-hsn-set/

Mobility may be just what Juanita need, along with her professed love of God and The Word. Sometimes our choices suits us but not others. I would rather see her doing what she is doing now instead of in a mental instution or still recovering in the hospital. She must have been horrified when Weeks made the video “Cussin in the bedroom.” He put all their bedroom business in the streets. The next woman in Week’s life better take notice of perverted intentions. I think Juanita is going to be just fine. Despite our failures, when we correct them, it is time to move on. If Juanita had not gone public, the public would have taken her there anyway. Now we SEE that she is healing and maintains her love for our Heavenly Father. We cannot tell people how “WE” would handle the situation think our way is the better way. Personally I would have left Weeks when I found out he only owned a futon. That would have eliminated the experience of perverted bedroom talk and beating.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was asked by the rich young ruler “What must I do to inherit the Kinkdom of Heaven?” Jesus answered and said “Give up all of your possessions and follow me”. Jesus later added,” It is harder for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven than is for a camel to inter into the eye of a needle”. All I have to say is we should ALL be preparing to see the Kindom of Heaven including Juanita Bynum. I do agree that any person in ministry is held at a much higher regard.

there are 2 perspective here, on one hand divorce in the church, on the other a womans right to live her life without abuse, the authority given to man by God, was for the womans protection not to torture her to nothingness and fear. it is refreshing to see a woman that wont be slapped a second time. if we think about it one slap could end her life. So i believe the way she handles this situation is personal. for those who see this as a money making scheme, you have your opinion, those who think she should forgive seventy times seven, you have ur opinion, she may not be around to forgive if she stayed with the abuse…….she has more to give alive than dead………Juanita you have a mantle you are the one who will stand before God….people can say what they want…..as usual listen to the holy spirit.

Judge not that ye shall not be judged. For with the same measure in which ye JUDGE it shall be measured unto thee. REMEMBER, Prophetess Bynum is not the church she is on of the members of the body of Christ. The BODY of Christ which is the Church. Let the strong bear the infirmities of the weak. Speak not evil or vain babbling. As CHILDREN of the most HIGH God, some of these comments are not looking like Him. Let a man (person) first exam his (ones) own heart; who are YOU in Christ? What do YOUR actions reflect? Are you representing the FLESH? Or are you representing the Church? Are you drawing men unto Christ? Or are YOU one of the reasons that individuals say, “If that is what it is like to be saved, . . . I’d rather stay in the world?” Are you causing others to desire to know Christ? Or are you causing them to steer clear of Christ? Answer these questions and if you are drawing and causing a desire to know him to build up in the hearts of mankind, keep doing what you do. If you are doing the opposite, REPENT. For it IS SIN. We are not to endulge ourselves in vain babblings. Use the virtual Bible on God tube to easily look up any of this information. Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.

One more thing, Husbands LOVE your WIVES as Christ so LOVED the CHURCH and GAVE his life for it. Beating on her is not loving her. You can read more on this at

To know Christ is personal. It does not mean you have to BLINDLY ACCEPT ANYTHING OR ANY BEHAVIOR IN HIS HOLY NAME!! Zealots, verily I(Common Sense) say to you……stop trying to deny and justify!!! Stand up and be men and don’t fall for the okey-doke. Find me a scripture that says take from the poor, pad your pockets, demonize the few that will shine the light on this major deception and I will give all my couple of quarters to the First Apocylpse Church Of The Flim-Flam. Then again a lot of y’all already belong to that “church” so I’ll still pass. Hilarious. Don’t pray for me, pray for your “lost selves”.
July 16th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
The end of time is closer than the world knows. The people in the House of prayer have been deceived and some are asleep but We must pray fervently for the souls of the next generation. The bible clearly says those that have put their hands to the gospel plough and looked back are not fit for the kingdom of God…. The Word of God will not change for any of us. Juanita & Weeks are those that Jude warned the church to beware of. They have tried to turn the grace of God into Lasciviousness (a license to sin). the Grace of God is not a license to commit sin and to teach others that we can do anything we want to without any fear of God. SAVE YOURSELVES FROM THE FALSE TV Evangelists!!!!..

I cannot believe that in all of this defending her etc. no one is addressing the FACT that her divorce was NOT even sanctioned by the word of God. (you all DO remember the bible right) Adultery is the only grounds given by Christ when asked and yet we defend her with our “down with the men” mentality. If abused she should have parted with hopes of coming together again. I also know that her marriage was out of order from the beginning and bound for trouble. YES I said out of order because the husband is still the head and cant really be when he is sitting behind you all of the time broke while you run everything. He was set up by her and this was her plan from jump. I also know that abused women dont run up behind a man that hits them and thats what she did in the tape. Right into his face. She wasnt afraid she was provoking him. She has a Jezebel spirit of greed and pride and will be called to task for it. You can tell a tree by the fruit it bares and her fruit is rotten.

I believe that Dr. Bynum is an anointed woman of God and has been chosen to be one of his prophets. I am a christian who is also a survivor of a domestic violent marriage. Because of my experiences, I have also wondered if she has not allowed herself time to heal and carefully clear her head. I do not want to judge her because I am not God and do not know her situation outside of the materials provided by the media. Despite of the fact that we should not judge, I pray that she will clearly allow the Jesus to minister to her. I know that helping others can provide healing to her but I believe that she may need time to rest in the Lord. Regardless of our opinions, God knows what is best for her.

ive read alot of comments and was very disturbed about some of the them because we are belivers and Juanita bynum is a believer also. what came 2 my mind is when they accused JESUS and nailed him 2 the cross, i believe were forgeting who we are. we as believers are nailling her 2 the cross like the church nailed JESUS to the cross. now this is how i see it, alot of people are upset about the decissions she has made and is making but they don’t concern us, we should pray for her shes one of us, we forget we do alot of things that compromise who we are as christians yours is just hidden, Juanita is just up front their is no diffrent we pray 2 the same GOD, serve the same GOD and trying our best to live a life that will be pleasing 2 him. now alot of u accusing her of not being who God called her 2 be, but what do you think ur doing with the nails in ur hand ready 2 nail her. the law is fullfilled in one word LOVE!!!!! so walk in the GODS kinda love. I love u Juanita and i’m praying 4 you. 2 everyone else is GOD pleased with u?????

FIRST OF ALL EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE THEIR OWN OPINION ABOUT MS. BYNUM. WHEN IT COME TO CHURCHES AND THE BISHOPS, PASTORS AND ETC. WE AS PEOPLE OF GOD SHOULD NOT BE FOLLOWING THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. WE SHOULD BE FOLLOWING JESUS AND HIS HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS WORD. THERE IS NO PERFECT HUMAN BEING NOR CHURCH. WE GO TO CHURCH WE GET THE WORD AND THE TEACHING IN OUR HEART AND SOUL. WE ALL WILL BE JUDGE ONE DAY AND IF SHE IS NOT RIGHT IN THE THINGS THAT SHE DOES WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE. THE ONLY THING WE AS HOLY PEOPLE SHOULD BE DOING IS GETTING OUR SOULS TOGETHER FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD. THAT’S OUR PROBLEMS TODAY AS HOLY PEOPLE WE TRY TO JUDGE OTHERS BUT TAKE A MOMENT AND LOOK AT OURSELVES AND SAY IF GOD WAS TO COME RIGHT THIS SECOND WOULD I BE GOING WITH HIM. TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN HOME FRONT OF WHAT’S HAPPENING IN YOUR OWN HOMES KIDS ON DRUGS, HUSBAND ABUSE, 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER PREGNANT, SON GOING TO JAIL AND ETC. SEE WE SO BUSY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HER SITUATION AND WHY SHE DOING THIS AND WE ARE NEGLECTING OUR SOUL AND HOME. I KNOW A LOT OF YOU WILL GET OFFENSIVE OF WHAT I’M SAYING BUT TAKE A LOOK AT OURSELVES. WE DON’T KNOW WHAT GOD PUT IN THIS WOMAN TO DO. SO JUDGE NOT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

16 Common sense, thanks for your enlightening me and proving the point. Who Cares about the achievements and works of a man who smoked crack and demonstrated his nifty regard for how to speak to a prostitute????? To compare his works to that of any bishop who pastors, is a business executive, counselor, and teacher 24/7 is an absolute joke. Like mothers, a clergy’s job never ends and people like you don’t comprehend this until your in crisis. Wife beater vs. married crackhead cussing out the hooker in this day of AIDS–give me a break, there is no great moral distinction. Some offenses that Black men commit are worth them Retiring and working out their own issues b/C THEY SHOULD NOT BE ROLE MODELS or esteemed to make any decisions for a people. ONLY Black folks sweep this type of demoralizing behavior under the rug, to the complete disregard for the women they offend and degrade. No wonder we see what we see in our communities. Thanks, but no thanks.
August 23rd, 2008 at 10:25 pm
@ Mulloverthis,
We see the type of behavior in our communities that you so eloquently stated is because people LIKE YOU give blasphemers, false prophets a free pass to do anything in the name of the Lord. Marion Barry wasn’t called to preach. And yes he smoked crack, but he helped a lot of people. Way more than the voodoo priestest that you obviously have sent money to. Wait for your blessing in the mail. When I posted a response to your initial post it was May. Now it is almost September. But then again I guess rehab takes 90-120 days. Hope you are well. Turn to your neighbor and say irrelavant. Comical you are.
August 23rd, 2008 at 10:31 pm
@ Mulloverthis,
P.S.
You are right about one thing. Those crooked clergy are dilligent 24/7 in asking for your funds. They are tiredless in the quest of the almighty…..dollar. But then again, you already know that.

Well….i sympathize with her situation but i think she’s tripping. I understand her plight to become the “Voice of battered women” and stuff but she is treading a very fine line. I have seen to many prominent ministers get caught up in the glitz and glam and forget their real calling…of course they try to covering with things like “this message is for the world…God has sent me to the Kingdoms”….but when you start changing your name from Pastor to “Life Coach” and stuff…its time to check yourself….she’s on her way to being caught out there…..and the bible says that in the last days anything and anyone that can be sifted will be …meaning anyone who is not strongly rooted in the word of God will find themselves caught in Vain doctrine etc….watch and see what happens…only time will tell…but watch closely
