Happy Birthday Del. Jill P. Carter!

According to the Baltimore City NAACP’s report card on the city delegation, Del. Jill P. Carter received a 95 out of 100 - the highest grade of all of her colleagues!
Without a doubt she is the principled freedom fighter that society usually celebrates only after they leave the scene.
However, I opt to give her her flowers while she can yet smell them so HAPPY BIRTHDAY Del. Carter and please continue to honor the legacy of your father and so many others who fought for positive social change for those on the margins of society.

I am white , but am writing anyway. I read you discrimination paragraph on wjz.com about the mortgage crisis. I am white and live in baltimore city and wondered who was fighting for me. I was going to be foreclosed on before the foreclosure laws took effect and was so happy to see that finally someone, that someone being you, was wondering what happens to the people like me, who cant be included in those new foreclosure guidelines put out by the governor. So I was hoping that even though I am not black I can be helped. Any suggestions

Ms. Stevens,
I truly empathize with your situation. My first suggestion, if you have not done so already, is to call: 877-462-7555. That is the state’s foreclosure assistance line, and a major resource for potential solutions to prevent and stop foreclosure.
Other Resources:
St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center provides excellent services:
410-366-8550
ACORN (leader in fight for people a/g predatory lenders)
410-735-3360
If you are unable to receive adequate assistance from the experts listed above, you may contact me so that we might explore whether there are any other potential options:
jill.carter@house.state.md.us
or
jpclawyer@aol.com
or
tel. 410-367-3939
Best wishes for a favorable and speedy resolution!
