   My thought is Heber that she never really had a personal opinion on the matter. What she had was a political opinion. The powers that be needed her to dance at that time to the song that was playing. When dancing you have to adjusted yourself to the beat that's playing in order to stay in tune (aligned) with the music. Now that the song has changed, so has her dance. Unfortunately she like many, Sheila is a politician. They dance to whatever song is on at the time. It's a part of the game. Too bad for us.

   I live in a different state, ergo I do not have a dog in the fight.

   However, whether an initiative passes or not in Maryland, the residents of Maryland who are going to gamble are still going to play slots and gamble elsewhere. Those Maryland dollars that will be spent anyway, will inure to the benefit of a neighboring state or commonwealth.

   Californians spend billions of dollars in casinos in the neighboring state of Nevada, particularly in Tahoe, Reno and Las Vegas (The Meadows). Californians have fought back by allowing slots to be played in several jurisdictions. even around the state. Clergy shouldn't advocate for gambling in my opinion, however tax revenues accrue from liqour, cigarette sales …, don'they? …!

   This whole slots issue brings back the feeling of a lot of open wounds in our community that have not been addressed. The entire O’Malley/Reid/Dixon cartel needs to be exorcised from the black community. What has O’Malley ever done for blacks other than move AFRAM onto a couple of stadium lots downtown?? Not inside where the people could comfortably enjoy themselves, but outside in the blazing heat with no shade!!! He ignored our babies with the education fiasco that still has not answered over 50 million education dollars mis-managed. He threw his partner Larry Bell under the bus when he saw an opening to become mayor. He ran on crime but the death rate here made Baltimore famous nationally. He was the architect of the “relocation” or “reassignment” of our families in East Baltimore(why does that sound like something that happened in WWII?). What urban renewal has taken place in Black Baltimore in the last 10-15 years?? He was Morris Day and Shelia Dixon was his Jerome and Frank Reid was the rest of The Time. Remember when the Korean grocery in the Park Heights area was selling tainted meat to black people and Frank Reid and newscaster Terry Owens put together some propaganda TV show called “Bridging The Gap”, stating that we should try to get along with them, all the while they were selling us poison. The same Frank Reid who got a sweethart deal with Pier Six while the neighboorhood he’s running from looks like Bagdad.
   The O’Malley/Dixon/Reid cartel were against slots just a few years ago. I’m tired of we as a community not FULLY standing up to a man that by his deeds, shows he hates black people and if that is to strong of an indictment, then at the very least he has shown an acute lack of concern for our concerns. But when you are basically given a blank check to do what you want with out checks and balances from the very person(s) who can(Dixon) and you have your minion(s) spreading your Final Solution Doctrine(Reid), you have present day crimes against the Black citizens of Baltimore. We need a Malcolm X to present this case to the U.N., for our rights as decent human beings in the city of Baltimore are being violated in the most fundamental ways, day after frustrating day.

   @ Rev. Solomon,

   No sir Rev., you have a say in anything as some of the particulars are local, but the same problem is everywhere. Moving the gaming to outer areas as Nevada is surely taking some revenue out of Cali. and that is a major argument here that if slots do not pass, that the people will go to W. Va., Pa. , Del., or N.J. to gamble, and that is true. But the fight here is in essence not to bring Babylon to Baltimore because for all intent and purposes, it already exists here.

   You all act like you are suprised. I am suprised many other Ministers haven't come out against this. Jamal Bryant, Frank Reid, Rev. Thomas. I'm stepping up my activism. Even people like Larry Young has been corrupted, Well he it may not have taken much of that to buy his opinion. He who pays the piper plays the tune. Sheila is controlled by the money interest just as many of the Black Ministers. I'm happy that the Collective Banking Group has taken a strong position. Bro. Rev. Heber is there a list of those that were for and against this. Those Sambo's need to be sanctioned and chased out of office. Larry Young does not deserve Rev. Heber Brown's respect anymore. Sometimes we have to distance ourselves from some people. My mother plays the lottery and I have distanced myself from her on this. We do not have time to play games. Our people are dying and people like Larry Young that have a "Get out to Vote Rally" then push slots down our throat along with Sheila Dixon. Too many activists and politicians are slaves. They are dependent on jobs for House Negro clothes and cars. I don't need nothing, I'm learning to live with integrity, ethics and morals. Too many Cowardly Politicians and it bleeds into the churches and black activists. Like they have 4 P's of business we have for P's of our destruction. Police, Politician, Preacher and Pusher. Rev. Heber, stand morally strong and do not be tempted by 30 peices of silver. As one "go up" it is just about inevitable that the corrupt, drug using, alcoholic, cigerette supporting politicians, NAACP and these other criminal syndicates will attempt to corrupt your message. We need to have a "Where you Jesus play slots at?"
