Checking in…

Hey folks,

Been busy as of late with husbanding, daddying, and pastoring. I need to do better with building in my blogging time. That will be made much easier now that I’m wireless at home and church. No excuses. I have MUCH to write about.

In the meantime, I’m hosting the Larry Young Morning Show on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 6AM – 10AM. With the recent, cancellation of the Big Phat Morning Show (WERQ 92.3FM), the Larry Young Show on WOLB 1010AM is one of the few Black Radio Morning Talkshows…if not the only!

We’re going to have a great show in the morning. If you’re in the Bmore area tune in. If not, send up a few prayers for a brotha. The last time I hosted the show the callers tried to rake me over the coals for being against the Death Penalty. It seems that I have a knack for controversy.

“With the recent, cancellation of the Big Phat Morning Show (WERQ 92.3FM),…” Not to mention the cancellation of “The State of the City” with brother Darin Mohammad, which, in my opinion, was the best example of WOLB’s purported slogan of “information is power.”

I’m glad that you’re more connected to your blog now. Perhaps you can get around to answering my suicide question. **wink**

I’m glad that the family is doing great.

There is no doubt in my mind about it, the inchoate Senator and President-Elect supports the Bushtanistas, particularly in terms of foreign policy!

    Rev. Heber,

I wish you well in stint at WOLB. We still don’t have a strong black radio talk here in Baltimore. If you bring strong, respectful, sober discussion to the show you fill in for, on some days you will be cut off while regular loons are allowed to ramble on. The Darrin Muhammed show was two hours of a con man inflecting his voice to sound like Malcolm X. He also tried to make an issue out of the media being biased towards the most ignorant piece of garbage ever produced out of Baltimore, the “Stop Snitching” videos, all the while he was in cohoots with the producers(See Stop Snitching 2 if you can stomach it). They have removed Dr. Powers from Morgan State radio, still without cause or a reason. Is St. George Crosse still around? Where is C4′s father or Lisa Mitchell or C. Miles for that matter. Strong black talk radio still does not exist here on a steady level, taking nothing from you or the other young brother who has a show on Morgan that you two do a tag team together on some friday mornings on WOLB. Keep plugging away and I do hope you will bring a strong steady show to the airways.

Hey CS. I’m extremely excited about the fact that Dr. Tyrone Powers will be coming back to the airwaves in Baltimore. In January 2009, The Powers Report will be back on WOLB. You talkin’ bout strong Black Radio? Man, I can’t wait. I’ll post more info as I receive it.

i like your style brother heber

ive heard you on larry young’s show and i think you along with farraji bring a level of consciousness that is lacking in that program when you all arent around

my name is james tubman and i have a website called the tubman solution

i post solution oriented material that people from all over the world come to see but i am also adding a new addition to my blog repertoire

starting december the10th i will, in addition to posting my usual material, be doing indepth one on one interviews with politicians, activists, business people and average people on my blog

i want as many peoples incite as possible so that the real leaders who really want to make a difference can have many different perspectives on how to lead our people out of the hell we find ourselves in the baltimore region

we have a lot of brain power and knowledge in baltimore that hasnt been tapped

i just hope my blog can help to get this brain power out to the public

i’ll contact you later for more details but i do hope to sit down with you and go over some things because i think your incite into the solutions that can be established for our community is valuable

    until then peace

In my humble opinion there is no black radio in Balitmore. There are, however; a few blacks hosting radio “shows” controlled by the those who do not have the best interest of the black constituency here in Baltimore. The REAL black radio activists (ex., Dr. Powers and Darren Muhammad) have been removed from “black radio.” It turns my stomach to even think about all those “step and fetch it” negroes here in baltimore. I wonder what and/or who Ms. Hughes did to get control of Radio One. Still on the PLANTATION! Don’t forget Maryland is still a southern state.

darin muhammad was the best show on wolb. what has happened to black radio is deplorable. larry young tip toes on his twinle toes around issues and never gets to any real issues. it's a sad day in radio. good thing bro muhammad is now on 1590. good riddings wolb. you lost some listeners.
