Live From Revival In The Bible Belt: Night 5

Back at the homefront hoping that revival continues in me. My final day in The Bible Belt went fast. After breakfast with the Pastor and a few others, they drove me to a Day Spa owned by a local pastor and his wife for a first. (I’ll have to tell you about that later, but suffice to say at this time – it will not be my last experience!)

Worship on the final night was moving. Before I went down, I wasn’t sure if I could preach five nights of the week. By Friday night, I was a bit sorrowful that it was over. Everyone was so hospitable, the revival was so personally invigorating, and the relationships forged will be long lasting. The pastor became a mentor and I look forward to calling him from time to time as I continue to walk this new path of an undershepherd.

This experience in the Bible Belt also pushed me to be more intense in my personal studies. Back here at home, I don’t seem to have the time to dig into the biblical languages, cultural studies, and sermon preparation like I did in an hotel room hundreds of miles away. But I will have to make time. I can’t let the administrative side of pastoring zap me of the energy needed to worship God through study.

Finally, let me say that some of my new friends in the Bible Belt embrace different theological positions on some issues than I do, but I have come to deeply respect their ability to articulate why they believe what they believe. I have even been encouraged to more plainly lay out my views and be prepared to give an answer when inquries are made. I have also been even more encouraged in the way of maintaining fellowship even if there is disagreement on secondary doctrinal issues.

All in all, this 5 day revival in the Bible Belt was a revival more for me than for those whom I stood before night after night. I will be a better preacher and a better pastor because of this experience.

Thank you, Thankful Baptist Church. May you continue to be blessed as you walk faithfully in the path of Jesus.

One Response to Live From Revival In The Bible Belt: Night 5

    Hi.
I found your Web Site by Google
And I wish you the best you can get,
the peace of God through Jesus Christ.

    Welcome to visit my Site.

Why does the revival tarry? It is because God’s
people tarry to obey the powerful command of
the Lord in Rev. 18:4. This is the most powerful
revival message of the Lord to his people in our time.

As in the days of Lot, it is now. Lot was not interested
to leave Sodom. God sent two angels to rescue him,
and they must persuade him to leave Sodom. When
he yet lingered, one of the angels said to him:
“Flee for your life sake …”
Just like as Lot, God’s people are not interested to
leave the great Babylon, but finally they must flee
    for their life from there.

Why are the Christians divided in many churches and
denominations? It is because the truth of the Assembly
of God has never been preached in the churches. The
members of churches and denominations are not
permitted to know the truth of the Assembly of God.
If the truth of Assembly of God would be well known
among the people, then all God’s people would leave
the churches, according to Rev. 18:4.
I left the great Babylon 43 years ago.

God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge
because their preachers have rejected knowledge.
Hosea 4:6-11. Instead to preaching the truth of the
Assembly of God, they have preached lies about the
Assembly of God. The Pentecostalists have abused
the expression “Assembly of God” and used it as a
    name of their church.
