President Obama with Iraq War Vet

March 19, 2009 marks six years of the Iraq War which has taken nearly 5,000 U.S. soldiers lives and countless Iraqi lives. Another 17,000 have just been sent to Afghanistan.

Enough!

Stop spending lives and tax dollars on endless war. Bring the troops home. Use our tax dollars to create jobs, health care, and education.

In his Riverside Church speech on April 4, 1967, Rev. Martin Luther Kings, Jr. called for ending the Vietnam War. A year later he was killed in Memphis marching for union rights. Let us work now to fulfill his vision of peace, jobs, union rights, and equality.

You are invited to a timely and necessary forum centered around these issues. Area activists (including yours truly) will be sharing reflections and thoughts for the future. The forum will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 7PM at Govans Boundary United Methodist Church (5210 York Road, Baltimore – parking in rear of the church)
