As I type this it’s 2:00AM. My body is begging for rest, however, I can’t retreat to what will be deep slumber without at least beginning to comment on the B’more Fair and Human Rights Zone March that took place this past Saturday here in Baltimore. Without exaggeration, this was the most organized, diverse, and strategic community activism event that I have ever been a part of in this city. I went initially planning to spend just a couple of hours there and ended up spending 5 hours and marching nearly 3 miles with hundreds of activists and concerned citizens who came from as far away as Florida to be there!
Kudos to the United Workers who spearheaded this wonderful effort and the vast collection of allied organizations who stood, celebrated, and marched in solidarity.
It’s going to take me about a week to fully unpack my experience there. I’m actually still processing all of it and through my more than 200 pictures and 3 hours of video, I’m gleefully reliving the highlights of what was a beautiful day in Baltimore.
Definitely, more to come on this, but in the meantime read up on the revelation that was announced at the end of the march: specifically that Phillips Seafood is reportedly the WORST Human Rights Violator at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor!
