    Pastor H. Brown,

Blessings to you my friend. I’m Pastor Michael A. Stevens from Charlotte, NC. I pastor the University City Church COGIC. I’m also the African American Coordinator for Christians United for Israel (CUFI). I read your very interesting article and its perspectives about our organization and Pastor Hagee you published last summer.

I’d love the opportunity to host an open discussion and dialogue about the Black Church and its support for Israel with you and local pastors. Let’s bring out all biblical and moral thoughts and then allow leaders to reconcile and think for themselves.

On another note, I’m hosting a free catered luncheon for all pastors and ministry leaders on June 8th at the Marriott Airport location in the Baltimore area. Also checkout my website at MichaelAStevens.com to see some of the other ‘controversial’ issues I’ve had to tackle in the national media, etc.

    God Bless!

      Good Evening Pastor Stevens,

Thank you for your email and I do remember you from the CUFI event here in Baltimore last summer. While I’ll have to pass on your gracious invitation to the catered luncheon on June 8th; your request to host an “open discussion” about the Black Church and its connection to justice and peace in Palestine/Israel is intriguing. I’d be open to dialogue further with you concerning this possibility. My direct email is: pastor@pleasanthope.org.

Thank you again for reaching out.

  12. Emily Latimer on July 28, 2011 at 11:50 am

Hello, Pastor Brown. My name is Emily Latimer and I am contacting you on behalf of Hand in Hand Baltimore. We are a local nonprofit that partners with young men charged as adults both currently detained in Baltimore City Detention Center (BCDC) as well as those who have been released. We promote mental health and literacy while also providing them with educational and job opportunities. One of our most dedicated students, Corey T., is currently taking classes to earn his GED while also working full time at his new job, Joe’s Squared. Corey is 19 years old and attends the program completely voluntarily. Corey will be celebrating his first free birthday in two years in just a few days. As a celebration, the Hand in Hand volunteers, director, and the other students in our re-entry program are going to attend the Orioles’ game on August 8th. Corey had worked so hard to turn his life around and with the help of our executive director, and Joe (from Joe’s Squared on North Avenue) he has been a truly inspirational success story. We would be incredibly appreciative if Faith in Action could run a press release that our Executive Director, Jessica Turral, is currently composing. It would mean a lot to all of us at Hand in Hand, as well as the young men who want to change their own lives outside of our program, but lack the motivation or inspiration. Your stories are truly moving and I believe that this story would be in keeping with your honest and real themes. Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Take care,
    Emily Latimer

      Thank you!

Pastor Heber Brown III, I represent the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR). I’m interested in having you participate as part of a panel discussion regarding African American leadership. We’re looking for young, innovative leaders that can speak to leveraging their leadership to affect change and inspire other young leaders. The event is scheduled for Thursday October 27th. Can we take some time and discuss?

    • Heber Brown, III on October 8, 2011 at 10:37 am

Good Morning Bro. Bellamy. I”ve just sent you a message. Thanks for thinking of me!

  15. Rev. Dawn Cherri Snell on October 5, 2011 at 10:42 pm

Came across your Website and it is very interesting and thought provocative..I would like to open a discussion about how you feel/perceive women in the ministry of Our Lord and Savior Jesus who is the Christ????

    • Heber Brown, III on October 6, 2011 at 5:54 pm

Peace Rev. Snell – I’d like to direct your attention to another article where I mentioned women in ministry: http://faithinactiononline.com/2009/03/live-from-revival-in-the-bible-belt-night-1/

      • Rev. Dawn Cherri Snell on December 13, 2011 at 9:41 pm

        Grace and Peace,
Thank you Pastor for your reply..Sorry, I had not checked back for one in a while..Just wanted to know from another beloved in the ministry..I am presently in transition and I am encountering some deep revelatory instances that have confirmed my calling..Not only my calling, but being chosen for we know that as the biblical account states in the Gospel of John that we did not choose Jesus, He chose us. Nevertheless it is so true, many are called, but few are chosen. Also, in short, what is your response to the Eddie Long situation? I am not looking for a judgemental statement, because I do not want to judge lest I be judged. My personal take on it is that forgiveness is in order, but what happened to repentance????
        Because He is, I am
